■ バイクユーザーを増やす技術になるか

『Honda Riding Assist』の魔法のような技術は、CES2017において3つの賞を受賞した。

その2つは公式アワードパートナーであるEngadgetが主催する「Best Innovation」と「Best Automotive Technology」。そして3つめが米国Popular Mechanics誌が主催する「Editors’ Choice Awards」だ。

『Honda Riding Assist』のインパクトは、3つの賞を受賞することも納得できるほどに強いものだろう。

自立するバイクが実用化されれば、バイクの転倒事故が減少すると同時に、これまでバイクの利用に二の足を踏んでいたユーザーの敷居を低くするかもしれない。
