アメリカ・ミズーリ州で、薬物所持の容疑がかかっていた男が警察から逃げるも、おならをしたことで警察に居場所がバレ、逮捕されたと、海外ニュースサイト『New York Post』が2019年7月に報じた。

　同記事によると、警察は男を逮捕するため男の自宅に向かったという。警察を見た男は、自宅近くの森林地帯に逃げ込んだ。警察は男を追いかけるも、一瞬、男の姿を見失ったが、男がおならをしたため警察が男の居場所を掴み、逮捕したそうだ。警察によると男のおならに警察犬も反応したという。

　おならが犯人逮捕の手がかりになることもあるようだ。
