このニュースが世界に広がると、ネット上では「この少年は深刻な精神的問題を抱えている」「ネットを禁止されたくらいで人を殺すなんてあり得ない」「家庭内に何か問題はなかったのか」「もともとの性格が荒かったり心の闇を抱えていたのかも」「幼い子どもが罪を犯す心理を理解するのは難しい。少年は心のケアが必要」などの声が挙がっていた。

　残酷な事件であり少年は罪をきちんと償うべきだが、同様の事件が再び起きることを防ぐためにも、学校や家庭内で問題がなかったのかなどを詳しく調べる必要があるだろう。
