この時に初めて花婿の父親を紹介されたという。イギリスに滞在中、花嫁の母親と花婿の父親は意気投合。楽しいひと時を過ごしたという。母親も父親も10年以上独身で、境遇も似ていたことから惹かれあったようだ。
　
　結婚式が終わり、母親がフランスに戻った直後、Eメールでお互いの気持ちを告白し、遠距離で交際をスタート。子供たち(花嫁と花婿)の結婚式が終わって約2か月後に2人は婚約し、母親は父親の住むイギリスに引っ越し、結婚式を挙げたそうだ。子供たちも結婚式に参加し、2人を祝福しているという。

　結婚式は出会いの場でもある。しかし、親と言えども、愛する2人の門出を邪魔しない程度に行動するのがベストであろう。
