このセント・オールバンズ療養所は、東海岸で最も幽霊が多く出ると言われている場所のひとつだ。
ここを調査した超常現象調査官の多くが、亡くなった人の存在を感じることができると口にしている。
実際に、訪問者がアルコール依存症の病棟で撮影した写真には、幽霊の全身が写っていたり、廊下で聞こえる悲鳴、話し声が聞こえたりしたという話も伝えられている。
暗い廊下、劣化した壁、当時の様子が蘇るような部屋、置きっぱなしの車椅子や錆びきった車輪付き担架、誰かが手招きしているような階段の下…。

なお、現在は閉鎖されているが、通常はこの廃墟を案内してもらえるガイド付きツアーが年間を通して主催されているということで、特にハロウィーンシーズンには多くの人が訪れるという。
